Hi guys, I hope that you are all well and enjoying the nice weather (which seems to only be around Monday to Friday . . . !) I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who made it to the Vintage and Scale event. It was a really good day with lots of interesting models on show, some of which were static only and others that looked as good in the air as they did on the ground. Richard Preston was awarded the vintage trophy for his services in keeping the small vintage model industry alive! Although, there was no award for the best crash of the day, but I’m sure that all of us, who were there, would agree that Dave Ruskin wins that award, after his FW190 spectacularly ‘imploded’ mid flight after a wing decided it didn’t want to play anymore . . . ! Top marks for Dave’s jolliness after it had happened as well. However, I don’t think that I could smile like that after a crash! Thanks must go to Keith Simpkins for organising the day. It was great to get lots of us in the club together and I really think that the club benefits from having events like this. Below are some photos from the day very kindly sent to me by Arthur Burch and Dave Ruskin – enjoy.
